Nexus 4 as dedicated music player?

I have Google Music all access but hate killing my phone by listening to music all day, any reason not to pick up an N4 at the new discounted price as an iPod Touch-esque android option?

The 8 GB N4, which is the really cheap one, is no longer available on Google Play, I think. Besides, the N4 is such a good phone, it would seem a shame just to use it as a music player. How about getting an older refurbished phone like a Droid X (assuming it's compatible with All Access)? They're on sale cheap right now at Dailysteals.com:

You can get a bad Imei phone for super cheap on eBay, just load music up or stream via Wi-Fi.

My Verizon GNex is on it's death bed and barely makes it through half a day on it's own, and my 2nd Gen iPod Nano finally kicked the bucket. So I'm searching for a device to fill the gap that I can take running, and use for music throughout the day. Since the 16GB Nexus is down to $249 which is barely more than an iPod touch, i figured the Nexus might be a good pickup even though I won't be able to use it's phone aspects.

I bought a 80g ipod classic to hold my entire library. Around $100 on amazon and ebay.

Streaming all day the n4 battery will die hard too. Just putting it out there.

I think I burn through about 10 percent of the battery per 1 hour of listening to music stored on N4 in airplane mode with wifi turned off. Lot of glass in the Nexus 4 and as a dedicated music player think it'd be a bit on the fragile side. Personally I don't like to jog with my N4 since I think it is a bit too bulky to comfortably run with. But for $250 you get a sweet deal and an awesome device, but it'd be too big for me to carry around as a second device to use for music.

Uh I'd get umm the Nexus 7 maybe. Since you want to use Google all access. Can't on an iPod...so ya.

This will depend heavily on the internet connection. On WiFi it shouldn't be a problem. With a good cellular data connection, going all day should be possible.

I use n4 with a pair of backbeat go2 and Google music for the gtm. It works like a charm.
