Nexus 4 Battery Failure with Lollipop 5.0

My Nexus 4 has been running hot since the upgrade to Lollipop 5.0. The battery has finally failed and the phone will not start. Has anyone had a similar problem. Is there an easy fix? You would have thought Google would have tested this before hardware starts failing. Will Google take any responsibility for the failure?

Welcome to Android Central! We've been seeing a number of Android 5.0 problems on the Nexus 4. 5.0.1 is supposed to fix a bunch of bugs, so I think that's Google trying to take some action. Are you able to flash it manually to your phone? Android 5.0.1 OTA links are starting to surface, here's how to use them | Android Central. Otherwise, it will presumably start rolling out soon.

Were you still having this problem? After the 5.0.1 update I received via OTA yesterday my phone is running very hot. I flashed it back to 5.0 and it is still hot. Please let me know if you found a fix for this or if we need a new battery. Thanks
