Hi,

My Nexus 4's battery has stopped charging. It was working till last night, but all of a sudden it happened that when I connect the charger with the phone, the battery icon doesn't change and the phone doesn't say "charging". I have tried 3 different chargers, but the problem remained the same.

When I see battery history in settings, the charge level of battery fluctuates from 30% to 40% randomly. I've kept the charger connected because if I don't connect the charger, the phone will shut down after some time and I'm afraid that I'll not be able to start it again because the battery is not charging. When I keep the charger connected, the battery doesn't get charged, but it also gets drained very slow, so I have kept the charger connected from morning in order to keep the phone up and running.

I've even tried Factory reset, but the problem didn't solve.

The phone was purchased from Play store in Germany using my friend's google account, but it was shipped directly at my Germany's address using my own name. Can anyone suggest what can I do in this situation. I believe that the phone is still in warranty. Should I ask my friend to contact Google or should I contact them myself? A small problem is that my friend has now moved to United states who purchased this phone from Play store for me.

A snapshot of the phone's battery history is attached for reference

There is a support helpline number on google website for Germany. I tried to call on that number, but the menu was only in German and I cannot understand German language.

Please advise

Thanks

You can try using the email/contact form on their website (try this link), or you can try contacting LG and ask about warranty info. Good luck.

I think you can call the US play store support (using skype it shouldn't cost much). I think most of my issues where dealt by the US even though I'm in the UK. But I still got my replacement device in the UK. Regarding the fact that it's your friend who purchased the device worse comes to worse give his name and gmail account and he will be the one receiving the emails about the how to return your device.
