Hello Everyone,

I'm sure this has been posted tons of times. I have a mix issue with the battery on the Nexus 4. What are people doing or any tips to help the battery life for the Nexus 4. Currently I have BatteryGuru in training mode but does anyone recommend any other apps or tips? I don't really want too root to change the kernel as I like to keep the experience as it is.

The battery overall is fine but I find if you do anything intense (like gaming) it can begin to go down very fast. I come from an iPhone 5 where that battery was pretty good.

I use Juice Defender Plus, and it works great, and has lots of variables that can be set by the user. No rooting required,

Thanks for Juice Defender tip been running it phone standby is superb now.

My battery life is appalling. I used to get max 3hrs screen time, but now 2hrs is max that i can get. Perhaps because i have stopped using Greenify?

I have now downloaded greenify and greenified almost all the apps that i don't want running without me specifically asking. Will report in a few days if i can get that battery back to what it was. I am also thinking of kernels and RaspJellybean install!

I'll just point out that an app isn't ever going to magically give, it's doing things to help reduce the phone's power usage. For those thinking about using an app like this just keep in mind that the phone is "watching" how and when you use things over a few days and then it'll begin turning off things when it thinks you don't "need" or don't need at certain times. That might be fine for some but it can lead to some weirdness if you don't expect it.

Weird, I'm not rooted (nothing but Battery Guru) and I normally get ~4 hours screen time.

Coming from an htc phone my battery life is so average. I can get about 15 hours or so and my battery will be at about 20%. This is with moderate use and some gaming. I end up just plugging it in when I get home for a bit to last me the rest of the night if I need it. Needless to say I've gotten use to it lol.

I just looked into that battery guru. Interesting to see an app developed Qualcomm. I'm going to give it a try and see how it goes. Never heard of it till today.

just downloaded it as well as greenify does not seem to do much better.
I am usually pretty frugal when using the phone, only have what i need on via quick toggles. Perhaps i have become lazy.

Will use snapdragon battery guru and see what happens. if not may install trinity kernal with Raspbean jelly.
