Nexus 4 does have LTE.

I had to set my APN to LTE. its working now! I got about 25mbps download and 23 up. not tooo bad at all!

ALSO:

The APN I used was

APN - ltemobile.apn
Proxy - <not set>
Port - <not set>
Username- <Not set>
Passwors - <not set>
Server < not set>
MMSC - http://mms.gprs.rogers.com
MMS - proxy 10.128.1.69
MMS - Port 80
MMS protocol - Wap 2.0
MCC - 302
MNC - 720
Aythentication type - < not set>
APN type - either "*" or "internet + mms" Should work

For your APN try "lteinternet.apn" instead of what you have to see if it's any better. I got 49 down 23 up.

Oh and for APN Type: "default, supl, mms" -- I copied this from my wife's S3..no quotes of course.

I used the same settings as you. Got them from XDA. APN wouldn't work with the lteinternet.apn address, but it with the ltemobile.apn. Still an uninterrupted strong 4G signal, even in my office tower. Happy days (at least for now)!

Just picked up the lte sim.

Getting 46 down and 24 up. Wow, I love this phone.

Sent from my Nexus 4 using Android Central Forums

Doesnt look like its any use here in the states but from what ive read on other sites looks like Canada/Europe lucked out!

This totally reminds me of the FM Radio on the Nexus One, and how it was "technically" there but a lot of people said it would never actually work. Just like this, if you put the hardware there, devs will find a way to activate it.

This thing should have had LTE and been on Verizon/Sprint from the start.

That would make no sense since they are making a phone for the masses, verizno and sprint both use CDMA while most the rest of the world is on GSM...

sooooo legit, but my battery hates me even more now. took it off the charger at 2 pm, and its down to 18 percent at 830. id say moderate usage, leaning to the heavier side. but still, this is awesome.

Is it possible that since HSPA+ can match LTE it is just showing on the speed tests as LTE?

No because rogers has a theoretical max H+ speed of 21mbps, so it won't reach over that, there are many users getting 50+ mbps using lte on the n4. I did a quick speed test on fido on the out skirts of my little town yesterday away from most towers where it barley picked up 4g and I got 20mbps down and 30mbps up. So those numbers right there beat it out.
