nexus 4 excitement over ?

Nowhere near bore for me
been using this for more than 2 months ,
and i am still on stock rom, havent flashed any custom one yet.
but cant wait to flash AOKP or Carbon to check it out.

Coming from an iPhone 4 this is such a leap in terms of freshness,
simply awesome.

It goes in phases for me. I get bored of phones quickly but every time I use another phone I start to really miss my nexus and i run right back.

No, Bored wouldn't be the right word. That would be like getting bored of using a really good power tool! You just really look forward to every opportunity you get to use it. Its a pleasure and makes you smile and appreciate it. Your glad that you didn't get a cheaper one with less features. It makes work fun!

If your a power user 24/7 that word never enters the picture.

One last side note, I thoroughly enjoyed unboxing the phone and setting it up. May be a small thing to most people but I used to HATE seeing a sales rep take my phone out the box after I just bought it and be the first person to put their hands on it. It just ain't right. Anyways..

Ha! I never thought about this (n4 is my first smartphone) but I can definitely see this...

I like that pretty much everyone doesn't known what phone this is.

is anybody here switched from galaxy nexus (4.2.1 or 4.2.2) to Nexus 4? No real diffidence huh? except speed, perhaps?

My excitement was over before I ordered one. I was really wanting to get one, but I'm too spoiled by LTE. I can't go back to a non-LTE phone now.

Depending on where you live you may find that t-mobile's HSPA+ is almost as, if not just as, fast as LTE. My N4 may average slightly less than my LTE phone, but the difference is rarely noticeable, and on occasion it can even be faster. Not having LTE has turned out to be a non-issue for me.

I'm still toying with the idea. The wife has the N4, but there isn't much difference.

At some point I would hope Google comes out with a LTE Nexus. Especially now that Qualcomm has come out with a RF 360 chip that has every LTE band in the world on it!

When I can't decide on upgrading...I start treating my phone like a Rented Mule, and hope that it breaks.;)

I switched from the Galaxy Nexus to a Nexus 4. There is an incredible difference. Screen tech, build quality, camera, 2gb RAM, and every single thing on this phone is buttery smooth.

Just like my Galaxy nexus...they both have case's on them so build quality doesn't matter, they are both buttery smooth, we can't tell the difference between the screens and they both take pictures that are not as good as my iphone 5. Still good enough if held steady and good light.

You can list the specs all you want, but there just isn't much of a difference... I have an S2 here with a Gnexus Rom and thats as fast as the N4 as well and its ics. I think the camera is even better. If it wasn't for the smaller screen you couldn't tell that its a 2 year old phone.

The only times I've noticed that the Gnex is as smooth as the N4 was during simple tasks. When you start doing multiple things at once (example: Installing app updates while steaming music and browsing the web), you really see how well the Nexus 4 can handle it all with ease. The Gnex can get choked up easily.

The difference in screen quality is huge. The Galaxy Nexus (or maybe just AMOLED?) had some issues with it's screen. Besides the poor calibration of the N4 screen, which you can easily fix yourself, the screen is gorgeous. If you haven't noticed the poor quality of the Gnex screen, please don't try to look for it. Once you see it once, you'll see it every time you look at your phone.

I agree that specs don't mean everything, but with Android, more is always better. I'm not saying that the Gnex is a bad phone, but it's getting old... The Nexus 4 is a great, cheap upgrade. :)

I wish i could have a chance to get bored with a Nexus 4, buuuuut I?m with Verizon. So that ain?t happening.

Agreed. When I pick up my gnex, it is really slow in comparison. The screen has the ghosting issue, poor battery, not so great radios, and the slow updates from Verizon. Even running aokp made it a slug during heavy use. Biggest difference for me is no more lag when typing in landscape! The Nexus 4 is a huge upgrade from the Galaxy Nexus. I hope Google never has Samsung make another.

I have used both T-Mobile hspa+ and AT&T LTE, and in my area there is no comparison. LTE gets like 22mbps down reliably and I'm lucky if I hit 15 peak on tmo.

Well, unlike NexusGirlX and others on here, I don't have any other tablet devices; so it's my N4 and my MBP running both Lion and 7.

I have been waiting since Thanksgiving to get one, and finally got mine two weeks ago (or so). I actually use mine as a full tool for all my needs (calendar, email, etc.) and just like my EVO 4G before it, it's like a third hand or a second... um, yeah. Let's just leave it at "third hand", alright? :D
