Hi guys, recently I rooted my Nexus 4 phone acc to this procedure Nexus Root Toolkit v1.6.2 | WugFresh

Then the new version of Android was announced, i.e. 4.2.2, but automatic update from Google wasn't coming. Even when I checked manually Nexus via Phone setting, it was still telling me my Phone system is "UpToDate". So I was Impatient and upgraded OS manually using method#2 as mentioned here http://www.androidauthority.com/how...nexus-7-and-nexus-10-to-android-4-2-2-156784/. Btw. Method#1 was not working..#3 i haven't tried.

after this manual update of OS, when I powered the phone off, and wanted to go to Recovery mode, I just saw Android laying down with red triangle with exclamation mark.

I was looking on the internet how to fix it. So I found, how to make "Factory Image Restore" and restored the factory image..
But even after this, if I go to Recovery mode, Andorid is still lying down with red triangle coming out of him..

What should I do, to fix this? To be able to get into "Recovery mode" menu?

Use wugs to go back to stock 4.2.1 and then get the ota. Wugs will have the 4.2.2 update any day now so you can root after updating.

What I did not mention is, when factory image was restored, the android version is still 4.2.2. Is it ok, when it came to me with version 4.2.1? Shouldn't be the factory image exactly the same?

i had a rooted unlocked phone. i got locked out of my recovery after i got the OTA update. i had to do the following:
1. get into phone (vol plus power button method)
2. fast-boot into the phone
3. LOCK and the UNLOCK the phone. Yes it will erase you phone.
4. fash a recovery.img (twrp or cm recovery) - done OR reboot phone normally
5. installed goo manager
6. goomanager setting - install recovery image - done

It depends which image you flashed. It's really not important as you want 4.2.2. When you flashed the stock rom, the stock recovery flashed also. You could fastboot flash a recovery, but Wug's Toolkit is now updated to 1.63 so use that to flash your custom recovery. Your phone should not require re-locking and unlocking.

FWIW, you probably just needed to clear the cache in Google Framework Services app to get the notification of the update. However, it would not actually update since it appears you were running a custom recovery. A custom recovery or any changes in the system set-up (removing system apps; running mods; etc) will prevent OTA updates.EDIT: IT appears that running custom recovery will no longer prevent OTA updates (see # 8)
