Mine came very late in the day yesterday. my Sim morning. Working great. The new keyboard is even better than swiftkey.

That's why I'm ditching the S3 for this. I like my N7, and figured I could find a better soul mate for it.
I'm done with all of the bloat ware, heavy skins, etc. I feel like own the N7, I feel like att and Samsung part-own my s3...

Yes, correct. And no one knows how much subsidy they pay, etc..
At least with the n4, I'm done with that mess. So much better to go solo. One less party to worry about!

And I do understand that companies need to get paid and subsidies get you a premium phone for a reduced up front cost, but att is not going to lower my bill after my contract is up and I'm using the n4....
All in all, I hope the Nexus device works out the way I hope it to and I can remove the shackles... And hope that it's positive enough of an experience to stay on the Nexus track. I love the tab, the prices make it affordable for people and the phone for this price seems like a great way to get people using the technology, which will only move things forward.. Good time to be a consumer.

Unfortunately I have no option. I'm grandfathered into unlimited and T-Mobile coverage doesn't exist in my area. I hate to extend my contract but I may try to get new iPhone when it comes out and eBay it since I'm paying the same rate regardless.

I am guessing that they do. I highly doubt it will be recovered and I am sure Google knows this, and will not spend any time trying to get it back, but for their insurance purposes, a claim will probably be filed.

I am grandfathered in as well. But I have two lines. One for me and one for the wife. I may ditch one line and try net10 $45 unlimited capped at 2GB. That saves me roughly $25 a month or $300 a year...
The other way I see it is that att has that new no contract company/plan. I saw $70 unlimited everything and capped at 7GB. I pay $70 now for my grandfathered plan, but don't really go over 7GB by myself... So perhaps there is less risk involved in giving up that old plan?
I'm not sure. I'm going to keep my Nexus on my grandfathered plan until February, and then make a decision. At the least, I'll do what I noted above and keep one line.
The upside to keeping the contract is like you said, get a subsidized phone, keep it in the box, sell it on eBay for full price, and keep the profits for a new nexus every 18 months....

Yes, I guess I didn't think about they may have it linked to my account or something. On the other hand I'm not sure why ATT would care as I'm already on the hook for the 2 year contract or etf. I'm paying for it either way?

Well I received my 2 Nexus 4's last friday (8/30) but waited to use them until yesterday because the cases didnt come in until then and I didnt want to use them naked. Went to the ATT store, they gave me new sims and I was in and out in 5 mins. Wife's Nexus 4 works great, mine however I can't hear anything on other end. People hear me just fine but I can't hear them. If I plug in some head phones I can hear them or if I turn on speaker phone as well. From googling, it seems as if this is a fairly common issue. I've done two factory resets just to see if that would work, still no go. On hold with goggle support now. Hopefully they'll ship me a replacement.

I thought you could sell it... And just keep your contract in tact.
My contract is not up at the moment, only 12 months into a two year commitment.
I called att, asked them to unlock my s3, they did. I asked them if I could now sell the phone since I'm getting a new one and they said sure thing. Once I activate the n4, they will update their system and the other person who buys my phone will be able to activate it on any network. At least that's what the att rep told me.
Is that not true?
