Hi,

I have a Nexus 4 and have a couple of questions I'm hoping someone can answer.

When I hold the 'Home' button I have the option to access Google Now, but can I add shortcuts to this screen?

Since upgrading to Android 4.4 I also have a camera icon on the unlock screen, can I use this to unlock directly to the camera?

Thanks very much.

Not with stock, unrooted Android. Afaik you can change this if you root your phone and possibly install a custom ROM.

Yep, just swipe left from the camera icon and it'll launch the camera.

If by add shortcuts to the screen you mean the homescreen...absolutely! Instead of long pressing on the home button..long press on an empty part of the screen its self. A menu will come up select shortcut or widget and carry on!

The OP is talking about adding shortcuts in addition to the swipe up for Google now... for example, say, swipe to the right from the home screen to add a certain app. Also, the shortcuts you're talking about and the pop-up menu are part of third-party launchers such as Nova; you won't find them on the stock launcher.
