I have been experiencing this problem for almost 3 weeks. My telephone ringer just quit working. I've tried changing the ringer; I went to settings to sound to volumes and everything is turned up there. I've rebooted countless times. I've downloaded different ringtones. I've tried the ringtones that came with the phone.

I saw where someone was talking about Bria and that might have caused the problem. I don't know what that is. It's not something I've downloaded unless it came on the phone. Please give me some ideas. I'm missing important calls every day. If I have it sitting on my desk and I happen to see someone is calling, then I can answer. Otherwise, I never hear a thing. All my other sounds like the notifications, alarms and apps work just fine. It's just any incoming call.

I don't have experience with Bria, but from looking at the description in the Play Store, I think it's an app that let's you make phone calls over the internet. So the other person you mentioned who had a similar problem probably uninstalled that app to fix the ringer.

Since you don't have Bria, you will need to look for any other programs that might be used to make phone calls over the internet. Do you have anything like GrooVe IP, MobileVOIP, Talkatone, OBiON, Vonage, VoX Mobile, or WiCall? If so, try removing all of those apps, then restart your phone. That may solve the problem.

Hi All...

I just got my nexus 4 yesterday with stock android 4.2.2

It is not rooted

The in call speaker volume is very very low...

Also, the ring tone volume is very low..

Other than that I love my phone..

Please help..

I have had my nexus 4 for about 10 days. It's my first smart phone so I'm still struggling with a steep learning curve. The ringer stopped ringing this week. I can't tell if someone is calling unless I happen to see the visual display flashing. The volume button is turned on. The ring tone I chose sounds just fine in Ringer Settings and other notifications seem to be working okay. So how do I get the ringer to make a sound so I know when my phone is ringing? Please help?

Open the phone app and tap the menu icon at bottom right. Tap Call Forwarding. Make sure the Always Forward option is set to disabled.
