Nexus 4 screen crack - Home/Back/RecentApps bar not working

I dropped my nexus 4 onto the road yesterday. I have a crack at the bottom of the screen and the home bar (3 buttons) have stopped responding. Request your suggestions on how I can continue using the phone by using workarounds (like hiding the bar etc).. Thanks in advance for your inputs.

Custom Rom maybe with the buttons on the top.
TBH your probably best getting it repaired.

The only thing I can suggest is to try to install a rom that will do those things with gestures. Maybe not even a rom, maybe a launcher like Nova has enough gestures and proper support for home, back and multitask. Also look into how cheap the digitizer is to buy and replace. You might be able to do it if it isn't too difficult.

thanks very much for your replies. I don't want to replace the digitizer since the crack is small and nexus 5 is round the corner. Have the nova free version. Will try out the paid one. Meanwhile, I am managing with floating button apps...
