Nexus 5 all volumes have gone low, how can I fix this?

Nexus 5 all volumes have gone low

Hi,

I have noticed that the past couple of days my Alarm, Media & Main Ringer Volumes
have all gone very quiet, even if I turn the sliders right up to Maximum they are all
still only at about half the volume level they previously where!

I have tried rebooting the phone but that has not made any difference.

Does anyone know how to get the volume levels back to original?

Do you have a case on the phone? If so, have you tried without it? Also has anything happened to the device, has it dropped or something?

Maybe try booting the phone in safe mode and check if the volume stays the same. There may be an offending app on your phone.

Apart from that, it could be a hardware issue for which I'm afraid I can't help.

July 5 security patch has bogarted the speaker.

Yeah not sure what's happened but my speaker seemed to lose volume as well but the worst thing is when I now select speaker during a call the person at the other end gets a terrible echo to the point where they cannot have a conversation and I have to revert back to holding to my head.
I have another Nexus 5 that hasn't received it's July patch yet and works perfectly. WTF.
