Nexus 5 and Android Runtime.

I have it turned on. Didn't see a huge difference. Seems like the battery lasted a look a little longer though. Will have to see tomorrow. So far so good...

I'm interested in additional feedback on battery impact. Also, any app incompatibilities?

I installed a custom kernel and am still evaluating it for improvements in battery life. I don't want to switch to ART concurrently.

No incompatibilities that I have found so far. Battery life is comparable, no noticeable change one way or the other there.

It seems to be pretty stable. The only thing I have found that is incompatible is WhatsApp

Titanium Backup and Whatsapp are known to not work with ART.

Battery drained 8% overnite before art and 3% after and I slept later. No other issues.

So who activated and how is it working? So far I have noticed an ever so slight uptick in responsiveness and speed launching apps. No problems yet but I haven't taken a phone call since turning it on.
Working like a dream. For me this is a night and day difference. Most noticeable on Maps and Google Earth and the Gallery.

It is a very noticeable difference on my phone. Everything seems to be working normally.

I have not noticed a battery savings yet, only a speed increase.

I would NOT switch to ART unless you are completely stock at this point.

I just got my Nexus 5 early this week and i've been reading really interesting things about ART. And was thinking about using it.
I'm not rooted or anything so are there any adverse effects to switch from Dalvik?

I tried it for a day. It does make everything run smoother and apps open faster. Battery life seemed a little better. The only issue I had is the " ok google" command not working. When I switched back to Dalvik it is working again.

Weird "OK Google" works for me... My battery is so much improved. Speed not as noticeable unless its an app like asphalt 8 which used to take longer to open and now opens pretty quick.

That's cool, I had wondered if anyone else had the same issue. I hadn't noticed it because I don't use the command a lot, but when I tried it, it didn't work. I know that the only thing I changed was switching to ART so I went back to Dalvik and it works now. I'm getting another Nexus 5 today and will test it out again on one of the phones when I get that one.
