Just noticed that there is a spot on all my images, in the same location. I had this on my DSLR a year ago and had to get it cleaned. It was an oil spot on the sensor.

Anyone else have spots?

If you have already removed the protective plastic screen protector-like cut out that came over the lens, then you probably have a a spec of dust inside the camera on the sensor. Nothing you can do but RMA the phone. I guess you could try tapping the phones edge against your palm to see of the dust piece might fall off the sensor.

I am having the same issue. I also had the same problem with my nexus 4. Will try returning this week sometime.

That's a good point. The bit of plastic film which covers the lens during manufacture & shipping is so unobtrusive that I can easily imagine many Nexus 5 owners don't even realize it is there.

The other day I was taking a night photo as a test. The scene was mostly black but had a small bright light source in the distance. I noticed that there seem to be two small dots that were the result of a reflection of some sort in the lens (or a problem with the sensor?). The dots don't show up in "normal" photos. I'll try to re-create it and take a photo (the shot I ended up taking that night only included one dot because of the angle).

I am having a similar problem in my Nexus 5. I had recently got it replaced because of zero network reception. Now i am 1 week with the replacement and suddenly i notice that my back camera pictures have a distinct black spot. Initially, i figured i hadn't noticed but i checked my previous pictures (within the week) and none of them have this dark spot. And its always at the same place.

Black spot here too. Looking back at old pictures, it seems to have appeared after performing a factory reset. Not sure if another factory reset would have fixed it or made it worse. Called Google, sending out replacement (refurbished) phone. I was just within my warranty by 8 days.

I noticed that I get a blue light-like spot on a lot of my pictures. I noticed this was due to the reflection of surrounding light off of the camera lens. I held my Nexus 5 at a slightly different angle and bam no blue orb.

I have a dot on all of my pics, You can see it very clearly when you use the camera on a white background. I tried cleaning the glass on the outside and I also tried the "tapping" to remove inner dust. No such luck.

Anyone have any success fixing this?

Turning the camera app on and taping the side of the lock button worked for me. I held the phone at a 45 degree angle.

Thanks.
