My N5 was one acting up and wouldn't boot earlier. It just kept getting stuck on the splash screen and kept cycling on and off but would never boot up. Anyway I stayed pushing and holding things and it finally booted but in "safe mode". I think I held volume down when the slash screen was on.
So now it looks like it's been reset cause my apps and home screen are back to "factory" and I don't know
A) how I got into boot mode (and what it means)
And
B) how I get out of it

Can any one help?
Thank you!

Safe mode should go away on restart.
