Nexus 5 is dead

My nexus 5 died suddenly yesterday, No matter what I did, I just got a black screen. However, when I put it to charge, the white "Google" sign is blinking: "Google" sign shows up for 1 second and then disappears for 2 seconds, which repeats as long as my phone is on charging. When the phone is on charging, if I press power-and volume up and down, it shows the boot menu for one second and it turns off for 2 seconds, which repeats as long as my phone is on charging. When the phone is not on charging, I just got a black screen no matter what I did.

Is the problem due to the dead battery? the phone worked fine and no sign of the battery problem until it died yesterday. Please help. Thank you!

It could be a bad battery, yes, but it could probably be other things.

Re: Nexus 5 is dead

Thanks, belodion. I purchased the phone from Google online store and didn't expect it would be dead in less than 2 years. Another problem is that Google and LG don't have a repair/service center in the city, and I can't take my phone to an authorized store for repair. Poor quality and no technical support. Will never buy a nexus device unless Google set up a repair/service center in the city.
