Nexus 5 KitKat 4.4.3 upgrade causing new issues/bugs

And today I went to use the phone, went into settings to check hotspot settings (not to turn it on) then back out to the home screen and then the phone completely froze. About 10 seconds later it rebooted itself. Have never seen it do that before. 4.3.3 update? Who knows.

My battery life is way worse than ever (with nothing else changed) and I'm still getting the intermittent loss of data connection even when my phone displays that I have full LTE bars.

Silly me for thinking 4.3.3 would be something helpful.

I didn't have an error, but lost all connectivity until a reboot and that never happened before the update: http://forums.androidcentral.com/google-nexus-5/398766-t-mobile-emergency-calls-only.html

I think this is what I had last night as well - the phone popped up a message that it was unable to connect to the network on a PRL update and it would not get a signal until I rebooted. I have never had it happen before. My wife's phone was getting signal just fine so it was not a Sprint issue (they have enough of those already).

since the upgrade, my phone's volume rocker buttons will not adjust volume at random times. i will have to either lock the phone and unlock again or do reboot to get rocker buttons to work...

signal strength seems to be consistent.

battery life also seems consistent for my usage needs thus far.

I don't think that is the same... I am on T-Mobile, so there are no manual PRL updates nor messages like that. Of course, the underlying issue might be similar.

4.4.3 brought random SIM card issues. (New SIm installed. Reboot phone). 4.4.4 made it worse. Had that pop up 3 times in the first 5 minutes after the 4.4.4 update. Have just wiped partition cache. Hope that fixes it. Too earlky to determine is the LTE data drop issue continues.

Oooh, I don't want to hear such things. 4.4.3 brought me the first ever tower connectivity/SIM issues, I was hoping 4.4.4 would have squashed that.

(Note, you don't list which carrier you use in the posting nor your signature... plus your signature says 4.4.2!)

Yes, my sig is old. Have to update. I am on T-Mobile. Clearing the partition cache may have fixed the SIM card issue. The dropped data connection remains. In fact, it may be worse. Just dropped the data connection twice while navigating. I had to pull over twice and reboot. The airplane mode on/off trick did not work this time.

Update: Factory reset also didn't fix. Google is sending a replacement.
