Hi,

I have a Nexus 5 that does not charge. I already did a factory reset, flashed the 4.4 ROM using Nexus Root Toolkit, but it does not charge.

I've used different chargers, installed another battery, nothing works. The battery percentage stays at 0% and tells me, it's charging.

In my opinion, the phone "thinks" it has 0% battery, because when I disconnect the charger, it will shut itself down, instead of just losing power.

Any help?

Welcome to Android Central. Are you sure the battery you installed is good? How about the charging port? If that is broken you'd see what you're reporting.

The battery is good, I've switched to the old again (and back to the new one) and it is still happening. I would wonder if a brand new battery would have the same problem.

About the charging port, that could be the case. Although, why does the phone work when it's plugged in? Wouldn't a broken port prohibit the phone from receiving power, thus not booting at all?

Edit: The phone does get a little warmer when not "charging"..
Edit 2: I've installed Ampere, and it's telling me the phone is charging > 1000mA. So I think it's charging

I think it is something software related, because when I start it in fastboot mode (volume down + power) without a cable charging the phone, the phone starts up without a a problem. It even keeps running for a while. (For over 10 minutes now). When I restart the phone and let it boot, from the moment the lock screen is displayed, the phone shuts itself down.
