Does anyone have there Nexus 5 running on a Sprint Airave 2.5+? I have had my Nexus 5 for about 10 days. I initially activated it on t-mobile to try out their service, but I just changed it over to sprint today as I am still in contract for 6 more months and figure I can get by with them long enough to avoid the etf.

Since the switch today it seems my battery is discharging faster than when I was on t-mobile though most of my day is spent on wifi. I have an Airave as well but the Nexus is not connecting to it, is anyone else having this problem? or has any idea why this may be? I will call sprint in the morning but many times they don't know the answer.

Seems to be common with Sprints Airrave. It doesnt seem to want to connect when LTE is turned on. Go into your dropdown, settings, more... select mobile networks, then select 3g instead of LTE (definetely not global). Seemed to do the trick. Supposedly the newer versions are supposed to support LTE but have not heard confirmed by Sprint. Hope that helps!

Connects to the the airave now. But SMS doesn't work. I have a e4glte and s4 with lte enabled connected to this no problem. All are on wifi as well so I don't know where the issue really is other than some incompatibility with the nexus 5 and the airave or a defective airave (I've had very poor call quality with the 2.5 unit).

Had to call Sprint to have them make some changes in the airave to get sms working. The guy explained it as the airave getting confused about the MSIDs sin I had the e4glte running on the airave previously. he also said that there should eventually be a software update to fix the LTE/airave problem.

I called customer service a while back because I had the same issue. Apparently there is a known issue with the Nexus 5 not being able to connect with the Airave and a firmware update should be pushed OTA to the Airave device sometime in the 1st quarter of 2014. Everything about Sprint sucks.

Unless you're in an area where Sprint has done their tower upgrades. I'm in Atlanta and I have fast LTE everywhere. I love it.

Yet, you are with Sprint... (instead of bailing during the first 14 day get-out-of-jail-free period)

Well, I've been on a family plan for about 10 years so I can't exactly cancel 5 phones and switch them over to another carrier as easily as you make it seem. I'm just hoping that the LTE they're incorporating into our area is fully functional soon, and then I won't need an Airave once the tower upgrades are complete.

I hope I don't come across as being a jerk or being rude - not my intention. Just trying to understand: I've seen several people complaining about their carrier, saying that it is absolutely horrible, no service, horrible data speeds etc... and yet, they stick with the same carrier for year after year. In your case for example, you've been with Sprint for 10 years, stating "everything about sprint sucks". Why? Is it because it is cheaper? (cheap enough to ignore horrible service?)

I'm with Sprint, and LTE coverage in my area sucks. I've been with them for over 10 years, but I am not switching to T-mo because I need the better coverage in non-city areas that Sprint offers. But if I ever got to the point where I was thinking that everything about Sprint sucked? I'd be gone in a heartbeat (1 line or 6 lines). If service is unusable, why stick around? (unless the "everything sucks" statement was an exaggeration)

What area are you in? And when did they start your tower upgrades? It took them 1 1/2 years to do Atlanta from start to finish. And the result is LTE speeds everywhere I go.

I'm in the Rio Grande Valley area, South Texas. It's been going on for about the same amount of time, but it seems like they are almost done. (Noticing more LTE coverage)

Eh, your first post seemed kind of rude, lol, but thanks for the detail. Since Sprint is the only one with actual "unlimited data", I am hoping to get grandfathered in once the LTE in my area is actually 100% (or as close as possible).
And yes I was exaggerating about Sprint, but they take a LONG time to do any major upgrades or fixes (probably why they're loaning out Airaves for free) and they don't keep their customers updated on what's going on. If you've seen the coverage maps and upgrades map on their site, you'd know exactly how much of a joke it is.

Anyway, long story short, It's cheaper in a sense for the data plan, especially with true unlimited, but I'm trying to hold out til then is all.

Sorry about that... yeah, I re-read, and you are right. I could/should have explained further :)
I'm in an area where sprint coverage maps indicate full LTE coverage, down to street level. But even if I step outdoors, my LTE signal strength is -115db or worse. UGH! They have been 'upgrading' a tower close to my place for a little over a year - everytime I call, they tell me "soon"! lol!

I travel to Atlanta often, and second what @TraderGary said - excellent LTE coverage there! They usually have some coverage in mos areas (even if it is not a large city), unlike T-mo, which is the only reason I'm still with them.

Sprint, the home of unlimited dialup :)
