Nexus 5: Phone rings and shut downs movie

I am watching a movie and I get a phone call. The movie stops playing and I answer the phone. When I return to the movie it has shutdown and not paused. Is there a setting I am missing? It is very annoying to be halfway through the movie, get a call and the movie is back at the beginning. Using a video player so is there a different app or a setting I can set to have the device go back to where the movie stopped when the call came in.

What app are you using for the video? Is this a video stored on your device?

I am using AVI Video Player by Video&Music Player Devel Group that is on Google play and these are movies stored on my device
