I prefer the Google photos app rather than the stock gallery app for viewing all my photos, I also like the fact that I have access to my backed up photos from pervious phones (i.e. Nexus 4) however when I turn on the Auto backup, it always adds the Picasa folder in my gallery app. Is there a way to backup your photos using the Auto backup function without the Picasa folder being created in the Gallery app?

Thanks in advance folks!

It will only add the Picasa gallery if there are photos in it. If you already have those photos stored elsewhere, you could just go your gallery online and delete them. Or, go online and move them to your Google+ account and then delete them from Picaso. They may already be in your regular Google+ account anyway. Picaso is being closed out in favor of Photos.

Note, you still will see a Photos folder in your gallery. Google is just moving things from one to the other....
