Hello everyone,
My almost new nexus 5 got water damaged after which it's not detecting the sim card. Everything else seems to be working fine. The text below the network icon says "No service". The same sim card works nicely in a different phone.
I have tried factory reset without success.
I took it to an LG service center where they said that the motherboard needs to be changed!! I am not sure though as they didn't check anything. Basically they just cleaned it with some brush, probably to dry it or something. I hope they are wrong.
Meanwhile I installed some random sim info apps from playstore (SIM Card, SIM Card manager etc). These apps are able to read details from the sim card like operator name, serial number etc. So why is the phone not able to detect it?
One more curious thing is that in the "Cellular network settings -> Prefered network type", the selection is set to LTE and i am not able to change it to 3g (my sim is 3g). Not sure if it's related.
Any suggestions what i should do next? Anything else i can try?
Thanks
