Nexus 5 Slow/Not Charging In Car, But Fine On Wall Chargers

I've also noticed this with my nexus 5. Way back when I first bought it I don't remember having any issues charging in the car, but as of the last few months, even with three different cables/ports I've tried, the charge is so slow that it just barely keeps my phone at the % it's at when I plug it in. It may go up 2-5% after 20 minutes or so in the car. My charger itself is a "high speed" charger, so I was kind of surprised that it worked so poorly. Admittedly I don't have any other mobile devices to test it out with though.

My nexus's battery in general has just completely degraded into nothingness these last few weeks though, so I'm not sure if that's related at all (the car thing was noticeable before the battery gave out though). On a full charge, even on wifi or with full cell reception, I only have an estimated 2-4 hours of battery life (and it stays true to that estimate...sometimes even less). Even on airplane mode, screen off, it can discharge over half the battery overnight. Not quite sure what to do about it at this point :/
