Few rumors so far (too early) but based on past trends most likely late October.

Also, thread needs to move to Rumored Devices.

I also would not mind having a Nexus 5. I had the Nexus 4 about a week before I got my One.

Aloha, from my T-Mobile HTC One

Also, based on spec trends where Nexus devices follow the most popular specs, the N5 will probably have a 5" 1080p screen, a Snapdragon 600 or 800 processor, and 2 or 3 GB of RAM. That's just my educated guess and not any insider info though.

5"?? most probably not. Google knows 4.7 is the sweet spot for phones but i agree with the rest of the spec

5" screen in the same or slightly smaller profile of the N4 is my guess (a la GS4 compared to GS3). Agree this form factor is the general sweetspot for most users. I'd be surprised if it doesn't have the 800, as it will likely best the GS4 in "all" regards (sans you removable storage/battery folks.) I'm basing that on the past two years: GNex > specs GS2; N4 > specs GS3 and I expect that trend to continue. Each device outdoes the other for 1/2 the year more or less. Those margins have become nearly negligible, hardware wise, for all intents and purposes for the foreseeable future. I just can't see the N5 being any faster or more useful in real world usages than my N4. I'm not stock, but I already know the GS4 and One are not. I do love those speakers on the One! Now that would be useful. Get on it Google and whomever wins the next Nexus bid! HTC would be a perfect fit IMO....and after the assumed success of the HTC One it would be exactly what they need to keep it going and really get back in the Android game.

Google usually follows the general phone spec trend (as in the N4), so I don't see why they won't with the N5. Plus, as another poster said, it's possible to fit a 5" screen in the N4's body.

I know I'm in the minority probably when I say I'd like to see LTE and it supported by Sprint which didn't bite on the Nexus 4

I think LTE is a given, but not sure about the CDMA part. If I understood the last podcast, it seems like there could be some proprietary code that the carriers won't want released because of licensing nonsense. That pretty much crushed my dreams of a Play Store Verizon Nexus until VoLTE in 2014/2015.

I don't see why you would think you're in the minority. Most people would want LTE and have sprint pick it up

True. It's the CDMA part that is keeping that dream from becoming reality as mentioned above.

It comes down to software for me now. I prefer all the features(gimmicky or not) that come on the Galaxy Devices compared to nexus devices.

I love my nexus 7 and the stock android for tablet is perfect for me. Although I could not deal with stock Android on a smartphone after having a GS3.

Hardware wise after seeing progression in hardware and design quality I am excited to see the Nexus 5.

Software wise Google need add lot more of there own Widgets and features that come on touchwiz and sense.

I would love to see a phablet nexus because the battery life the Note 2 gets which is pushing me to get a phablet.

Love the Nexus devices. I personally like vanilla Android without bloatware. Certainly would like LTE. Look forward to Nexus 5, but if a 32 gig, LTE Nexus 4 arrives soon, I'll certainly buy.

LG is making it. Probably based on the Optimus G 2 (Nexus 4 was based on the Optimus). Motorola will be building the next Nexus after that.

The Optimus G 2 is coming in Q3 to all major carriers. There are three versions of the phone being released.

Snapdragon 800 @ 2.0Ghz (Only known chip able to produce benchmarks left on Antutu).

I will be interested to see if Google makes the 5 more of a mainstream flagship again, or dev phone.

To me, the gnex was more of a flagship with the carrier dealing and lte, and the fact that it had the absolute best specs available.

The nexus 4 was back more towards a dev phone. With the gsm only and only play store and stupid low price and memory.

Maybe Google will make a "flagship" with moto, and make the nexus a dev pure android phone with whatever manufacturer wants it and supper cheap.
