This is what i meant when nexus 5X/6p phones are best on portraits. A friend of mine with a 5X took it a month ago. Forget about the photo's subject. It's better i should hide when taking pictures of me , but take look closer to the face's details even if it isn't uploaded in full resolution. None of best smartphones (Samsung Edge S7, LG G5/4, HTC 10 etc) can capture such detail.

I was reading about camera operation on a Nexus site and read that when you tap the shutter button the camera focuses and shoots. That results in a short delay between tapping and shooting. If you put your finger on the shutter button and keep it there you get continuous focusing and when you raise your finger the shutter clicks. It does seem to work that way and for fast subjects, like a dog or a two-year old kid, it would be handy.
