Nexus 5x stuck at Google logo during boot

I tried to unroot and install factory image using nexus root toolkit. It was a failure and now my nexus 5x is stuck at Google image at boot. I am able to go into boot loader mode but not able to use recovery mode. I think the custom recovery was deleted during the process.

How to install a recovery in it?

It should be. I noticed the title of the video was for an older Nexus, but the commands/processes haven't really changed.

USB Debugging on or off shouldn't matter. I just turned mine off, and tried a fastboot command and it worked.
