I recently purchased a Nexus 5x (it's on the way) but I just learned about the Moto G 3rd gen. I didn't know that there was a "new" Moto G. I'm now wondering if I should have went with that instead.
I'm on T-Mobile, and Band 12 is important, but it seems like the Moto G is fully compatible with the rest of the bands. I have a feeling that most people will say that the Nexus is better and that there's no competition here but I feel differently.
I have concerns that the Nexus just might be too much phone for me. As someone who likes phones 5" and below, 5.2 is really pushing it. I have no use for a fingerprint scanner, and I'm more of a user who prefers a nice midrange device. I ordered the 5x because otherwise, it sounds great.
However, it seems like the Moto G would be just enough phone for me. I never use NFC (in fact, it's always disabled on my current phone (which is a windows phone), and it looks like it's pretty much stock Android.
I'm torn.
tl;dr version: Nexus 5x sounds amazing for a casual non power user that likes to take pictures and such but seems like too much phone with the size, and the fingerprint scanner I probably wouldn't use.
Moto G seems like it would hit the sweet spot in size, and I would probably likely use all of the features of it, even though Band 12 is gone.
Has anyone been in the same predicament? Help? Opinions?
