I've met several people with the device, and all have really liked the device. Are you having some regrets, or wish certain things about it were different?

Once I removed the Sim, factory reset phone to disassociate with Verizon the phone immediately picked up the 5.1 ota. Then I just put Sim back in and good to go

Srmoreno, I heard about this before but also read that this procedure had results similar to a factory reset. Were all apps settings and files intact after you did that?
Anyone else use that procedure? ... what was the outcome for you as far as apps, settings and files?
Thanks.

I did that and yes its all gone because of the factory reset but I had most everything backed up. If you want the update now then do it, if not then wait it out.

I love my nexus 6 OP. I did get the 5.1 update awhile ago. Its a great device. No regrets here.

Many regrets and I hate it now.
#5.1 screwed it completely, had to revert back to 5.0.1
# cracking sound from speakers
#photographs get pixelated and later get corrected for no apparent reason ( pics in google play, pics captured from cam, pics on website etc)
# phone heats up suddenly without any reason ( no games or CPU intensive app installed)
# Numerous apps and process crashes
# Battery life is average and not stellar as everyone claims ( if used , battery dies at the end of day - 2.5 to 2.8 hrs OST)
# Ringer volume is inconsistent- low and mid settings- barely audible, highest setting- too loud)

I wasted my money on this :(

No regrets, but I came from a Nexus 4 and was overdue for an upgrade. But to your points:
5.1 seems more stable than 5.0.1 for me.
I do have crackling speakers sometimes and it's very annoying.
All my pictures get stored to my PC, not the cloud, and they look just fine.
Phone never heats up for no reason. It did heat up today to 104 when I left the Game of Thrones game running for an hour when I forgot about it. But that's it.
Apps crashing slowed down when I upgraded to 5.1. But there are still memory leaks, so hopefully 5.1.X or 5.2 should fix those issues once and for all.
I get 4+ hours screen on time easily while streaming music and viewing web pages throughout the day. Buy I'm on wifi mostly and cellular coverage is very strong when I'm at work.
Ringer starting off low then jumping to high is a bit annoying.

I take it you can't return your phone? My 30 day return window is about over with Amazon and I have no plans to return mine.

I think a large part of the problem has more to do with Lollipop than the hardware. Fortunately with this phone, we get the updates first.

Loving this phone, I came from the Note 4 and honestly I can't fault it. It consistently gets me through the day with battery life, having approx 40% left before I go to sleep, the camera is excellent and Lollipop is smooth and lag free! I stuck a Dbrand skin on my Nexus 6 to make it even better looking, I got the Matte finish and it gives it more of a grip in the hand (ever so slightly)

Superb phone

Complete step up from my Note 3 and gives the Note 4 a solid run for it's money and IMO it's the better phone

Love having pure Android and 5.1 with no lag and no bloatware!

I'd say to the member above with all those issues, send it back to Motorola and get it checked over OR have it replaced with a new one, too many issues there for me personally to keep hold of it!

thanks for the question and replies. my views are :
i came from Nexus 5 ,32gb and sold it recently while in Thailand. I bought it there unlocked
and never had any problems.
The 6, 64gb Grey unlocked xt1100 model is my problem.
I am moving back to USA and was given some info that xt1103 should have been the model for USA the xt 1100 is for Asia and Europe for 4G LTE.
I don't know what to do I posted on Craigslist here for trade for the XT1103 or Iphone 128 gb unlocked and I would pay the difference.
I paid 25000 thaibaht at 32baht to the dollar.
The only real complaint would be the buttons for power and the up and down volume are together in the middle of the right hand side of the phone making me either grab and hold it on the buttons if I
try and talk to someone I or my wife small hands shuts down the call or changes volume all the way off.
I think a bad place to have all three buttons on such a big and heavy phone.
The battery does not last as long as I would like.
I do get the OTA with no problem. I would like to see what happens when I get back to USA if it does work with 4GLTE if not I will have to sell or trade in the USA. I leave next month. Anyone interested in trading it has screen protection and two gel cases one blue and one clear. In box with everything.
If you are going to Asia or Europe you have a great phone unlocked of course.
cheers

That sucks .... I was having WiFi,screen issues and once I updated to 5.1 those issues are gone.. I get a occasionally spilt screen a one(1)game and I live the game so I deal with it which is just exit out clear cache and then resume..... Maybe look into a replacement possible you got a lemon?!? It happens

Really love it. It has somewhat taken the place of my Nexus 7. I like that it works with multiple carriers and have used with TMO, Sprint, Verizon, and Keepgo (International usage in Mexico).

It would be neat to see what carrier everyone has as well.

I feel like I can't be too picky.....It's nice to have a Nexus on Verizon again.

I tried 5.1, it made my phone almost useless. Everything kept crashing -contacts, dialer etc etc. Reverted back to 5.0.1 and I am somewhat able to use it.

It always amazes me how people can have so vastly different experiences with the same device, I've had friends with the same device and we can sit side by side and have totally different experiences.. One friend had a Nexus 5 and he had so many issues and I thought he was full of it (He came from an iPhone) but he gave it to me and it was a nightmare to use.. Never could figure out why and after a few months he went back to the iPhone... I almost can't even tell much of a difference between 5.0.1 and 5.1.... The phone pretty much acts and works almost exactly like it did before... the noticeable differences are just so minimal with my everyday usage...

Speakers are amazing for me.. No crackling but was disappointed in how you go from basically low to HIGH... everything in between is almost useless.. if there are say 10 different volume levels the bottom two are too low and the top two are almost too loud and the middle 6 are all the same... and the jump from those middle 6 to the top 2 is a vast jump in volume...

Coming from the Nexus 5 and even the Galaxy S3 before that battery life is AMAZING... but not as amazing as you'd think it would be with all the bragging over the power saving features of 5.0 and the larger battery... On a BUSY day away from a charger I know I can easily make it 12 - 14 hours with 3 - 4 hours screen on time... Typically I top charge at my desk at work during the day and it will easily go from 4 pm to breakfast if needed... but I rarely go below 40% battery before top charging... and I don't go out of my way to top charge.. at my desk I just set it down on the Qi charger and let it sit when not in use...

Very few app crash issues... but it happens... It's happened with every device I've owned from the Nexus One, HTC EVO, EVO 4G LTE, Galaxy S3, Nexus 5 and Nexus 6... None was any better or worse for app crashing.. never stood out as a problem outside of a certain app or two here and there over the years..

Never had any heating up issues at all..

Best phone camera in a device I've ever used or had.. Not to say it would replace my digital SLR but for on the fly shots it is plenty good enough to hold up..

Ringer volume is just like the speaker volume for me... it's either vibrate or top two settings.. anything in between I don't hear it at all... when I want a silent mode I just go one step up from vibrate and that works great.. rarely hear it even when I am wide awake and it's sitting six inches away from me on my desk at work....
