Nexus 6 - dislike??

I've got the 32Gb Version, Unlocked from Amazon.
Fantastic phone until the 5.1 update.
I've now got better battery life but the notification tone volumes change wildly and randomly.
Ringtone is always the correct volume but the other notification tones can be none-existent to almost full volume and there doesn't seem to be any pattern to it.
Anyone else having this issue?
:(

Many regrets and I hate it now.
#5.1 screwed it completely, had to revert back to 5.0.1
# cracking sound from speakers
#photographs get pixelated and later get corrected for no apparent reason ( pics in google play, pics captured from cam, pics on website etc)
# phone heats up suddenly without any reason ( no games or CPU intensive app installed)
# Numerous apps and process crashes
# Battery life is average and not stellar as everyone claims ( if used , battery dies at the end of day - 2.5 to 2.8 hrs OST)
# Ringer volume is inconsistent- low and mid settings- barely audible, highest setting- too loud)

I wasted my money on this :(

WOW only 2.8 hours.... Yikes. I get easily 3.5 to close to 5 hours

Ironic this post came up because I am back on my iPhone 6 Plus.

I will not be returning or selling my Nexus 6 or anything, as a matter of fact I love it. Nothing gets better than stock Android (especially being on Verizon).

So why am I back on my iPhone 6 Plus? The Nexus 6 screen. The AMOLED panel is trash. There is a lot of grain and artifacting on the screen and a lot of discoloration.

The screen doesn't look clean at all which words cannot describe how infuriating this is. Some people don't see it, but for me, it's very obvious. It's upsetting Google/Motorola chose to put such a crappy panel on an otherwise awesome phone.

This is how pictures show up as pixelated sometimes ( local media, play store, websites everywhere )
They get corrected either on their own or after I clear the cache

I also noticed that watching a few minutes of YouTube creates cache files as huge as 50Mb to 80mb
Anyone else facing what I mentioned above ?

It's a little too big for me. Not too big when using it, but I'm not comfortable carrying it around the way I like to carry it around. Of course that's subjective and there's no way I can know if the phone is too big for anyone else.

Other than that, since the latest update, the phone is probably one of the best Android phones I've ever used — and I've used a few. I leave everything on, sync everything, and use the hell out of it.

I couldn't sleep last night so I was reading in bed when it beeped to tell me the battery was low. After this much use, it's allowed to be low.

Is that on one charge no recharging?

Is that on one charge no recharging?

Yes. I usually get about 6 hours, but got lucky yesterday. No idea why I seem to get better battery life than others — I just use the thing. Mostly email, hangouts and phone calls during the day. A game or two and maybe some Amazon shopping, as well as reading during the evenings.

I love mine - my only regret is that I didn't buy a white one, but with Dbrand Skins I've made it my own. On battery life, it is a little hard to predict whether it will get 30 or 40 hours of battery life so I usually end up charging either when I get to work or just before I leave work, but I've never had to worry about finding a charger. According to GSam by average life is 1 day 19 hours, but that's 100 to 0% and I almost never let it drop below 25% - so 30-36 is more realistic to me than 40-45+ per charge. Lollipop's internal projection of remaining time always seems to be between 46 and 52 hours of total life as it discharges down. I average 3.5-4.0 hrs SOT per charge, which is one thing that i like about Lollipop - similar to my old Moto X, notifications come in a way that don't require you to power everything on to figure out what is going on.

I'm also thinking about turning my midnight blue into a white one. Can you please post some pictures of yours? How precise is the fit?

*updated*

I got upgraded for a 2013 moto X when Motorola did not have a replacement for my under warranty fix.

I love this phone but a few things I miss, or my regrets. Almost all of these are what in miss from my Moto X (which was good enough for me to move on from me modified Prē 2).

1. The size does not allow one handed operation. This also ties into the ergonomics as well.

2. Screen time chews through the battery.

3. Weak chargers do not charge the phone.

4. Voice commands in the Moto x (2013 and 2014) is by far better than the Nexus 6.

5. Motorola apps designed for the X is missed and should have been baked into the 6. Motorola assist, migrate, and connect are a few to mention.

6. Camera app had a touch and shoot anywhere on the screen and a one fingerbon screen zoom.

7. The breathing screen feature and wake on pick up.

Photos aren't great but you can see the applicable edges where original metal comes through:

I love the phone, BUT, I too have had the phone heat up for no apparent reason (no apps running in foreground). Battery is sub-par at best.
Other than that, I have NO issues. I'm on TMOBILE and just got my 5.1 update.

I have had mine for about a month after upgrading from a Galaxy S4.....I have been very pleased so far and do not regret buying this phone at all.

Multiple Google Nexus 6 dislikes here. Bought from Google Play store.

From what I read, N6s bought from VZW are running L5.1 ... I am still waiting. I thought a big reason for buying Nexus was no waiting for upgrades from wireless companies.

Google tech support page says OS upgrades could take up to two after release ... I have been waiting about five.

I conclude Google is cashing out of the smartphone business ... going from an affordable pricing model to premium pricing with disintegrating customer support. Too many other interests in other technical and political areas.

Battery life does not live up to claim. With super slippery body and ergonomically-challenged control location, design leaves a lot to be desired.

Maybe time to post N6 on Craigslist.

I would like to see what happens when I get back to USA if it does work with 4GLTE if not I will have to sell or trade in the USA. I leave next month. Anyone interested in trading it has screen protection and two gel cases one blue and one clear. In box with everything.
If you are going to Asia or Europe you have a great phone unlocked of course.
cheers
