Nexus 6 or Moto X

So i have both. Just wondering anyone's thoughts who have both phones. I'm trying to decide which one to return. Nexus was $275 more. (64gb) vs 32gb leather X.

So far it seems the size of the X is perfect. The Nexus has a slightly better camera. The X has trouble focusing at times. But the X does quick HDR and slomo video.

Switched from the Moto X to the 6, but I'm also looking at the Nexus 6 as a partial replacement for my Nexus 7.

So far the size is taking some getting used to buy I like it so far, I've only had it about a week though. For me one of the big pluses for the Nexus 6 is Qi charging, and the battery since it lasts longer than the Moto X did.

Ymmv though.

I just picked up a 32GB Nexus 6 on AT&T Next on Friday. I couldn't deal any longer with the glitches on my Moto X Pure Edition since the 5.0 update. So far, I'm absolutely loving the 6 and I've already gotten used to the screen size. Everything is so smooth and just works the way it was intended to.

The only thing I miss is being able to wave my hand over the display and see the clock. I would miss Moto Voice reading out my texts while driving, but it didn't work half the time. IMO, there just isn't any substitute for plain ol' unadulterated Android on a Nexus.

We'll see if the Moto X improves with the next update, but I'm pretty sure that by then I won't want to go back to the smaller screen.

I just picked up a 32GB Nexus 6 on AT&T Next on Friday. I couldn't deal any longer with the glitches on my Moto X Pure Edition since the 5.0 update. If you can handle the big screen and the extra cash I'd stick with the nexus. Better camera, better battery life and two front facing speakers. I really like this phone!

5.0.2 was an update that was needed for the Nexus 7 I believe. So it wasn't necessary for the Nexus 6. Just because there is an update doesn't mean you need the update. If 5.0.2 has something the Nexus 6 needed, Google would have pushed it out for that device.

It's like when 4.4.4 got pushed out... the update only had fixes for the Nexus and Moto line and wouldn't been needed for people with Samsungs, HTCs, et.al. Didn't stop the angst though.

I'm not going to say that one is better than the other. I have the same devices as you (64 GB Nexus 6 and 32 GB Moto X Pure Edition with leather back). My wife uses the Moto X and I use the Nexus 6. I've gotten used to the Nexus 6 size and feel like anything else is tiny to me now. But, in my opinion, the 2014 Moto X would be worth the Nexus 6 price. I will never call Moto's add-ons bloatware because they are simply great for the user experience. But on the other hand, I like the pure simplicity of the Nexus 6.

I think my dream would be for the upcoming Moto X Pro (assumed to be a non-Nexus branded Nexus 6) to have its ROM fully compatible with the existing Nexus 6 devices. I'd flash it in a heartbeat.

Had both but returned the moto x. Camera, speaker, battery and earpiece volume were the reasons for me.

Definitely like my Nexus 6 more.

That phone is still an enigma... it might be China only, so it'll have all the Google stuff stripped out of it. You might be able to add it back in (as simple as flashing a gapps package in recovery) though.

Though, depending on what Motorola does to the source OS, something like this may not be possible... who knows.

I have both as well. So far it seems the Nexus 6 is the phone I prefer. I love the screen size and have had a pretty good experience with battery life. I'd highly recommend this to anyone looking for a larger phone.
