Nexus 6 Quick Charge Not Working - Software Issue - Only Charges When Powered Off

Has recently started happening, over the last week or so.

Phone will charge on quick charger only when it is off.

Phone will charge on regular charger when on. Phone will charge when plugged into a PC when on.

Tried multiple cords and power bricks. Cleared cache. Power cycled phone, etc. No solution.

I've searched the forums and haven't found a fix for this. It has to be a software issue since it charges when powered off and not on quick charge, but what would make it all of a sudden start happening? A new app? Was an update pushed out that I missed that is causing it?

Sorry you are having a problem.
Could be a bad USB port.

If it is a bad port, contact Motorola and see about a repair.

I'll check that app out and report back. If it was a bad port why would it charge with a quick charger when the phone is off and why would other (non quick charge) bricks charge it fine?

Here it is on the quick charger. Shows it is not charging in the indicator (and battery charge does not increase) but it shows that it is receiving 300Ma's from the charger. When the phone is off, the quick charger will charge the phone. So strange.

Both show "Status: Charging" and it looks to be taking a charge, albeit slowly.
If you are over 85% or so, the charging will slow as you inch closer to 100%.
Run it down below 50% and see what the app shows.

I ran it down. It definitely shows that it is getting a charge on the ampere app like shown above but the phone isn't accepting it. The power number just goes down as if it isn't being charged.

This is ONLY on the quick charger when powered on. It accepts a normal charger when on and BOTH quick and normal chargers when off. Anyone have any idea what could cause this?

Bump. Still ongoing, no solution found yet. Anyone have any guesses?

Update. Did a complete factory restore and still no quick charge when powered on even though Ampere shows it is receiving charge. Version is 6.0.1.

Workaround: Power on the phone whilst charging.

This works for me on Nexus 6, 6.0.1 (with latest updates as of 2016-05-03). The caveat is, if you then reboot the phone when not charging, the phone will "forget" that it has this ability and appear not to charge when powered on anymore. Stupid phone (software)

I have the exact same problem. Its not a bad port, already checked it. I too did a factory reset and used Ampere app. Same as you. Muat be a something related to software
