I have my brightness set to 9% but the screen is way to bright compared to my Nexus 5 at the same brightness. I searched Google waste of time BTW and all I found were people complaining that the screen was not bright enough. Yea right. I have all my screens like my Dell PC, Tablet, TV at the lowest brightness. The only time I set the brightness to auto on the phone is when I go out but when I go indoors it is back to low 9%.

I am asking is there anyway I can get the brightness lower. I did use this app since I got my Nexus 5 as it is the only one I can find that had no ads come on ads in a screen brightness app is a immediate delete. Anyway I did set it down to 1% but it seems that below I think 20% the brightness stays the same unlike the Nexus 5 when I set it down t o 1% I can barely see the screen. Any app suggestions would be great? Thanks.

I too want a brighter screen in the sunlight. I am talking about indoors especially at night it is too bright.

Just curious did you ever find a solution? I'm considering the nexus 6 and one of my uses would be reading at night. My current LCD screens (nexus 5 and nexus 7) definitely do not get dim enough.

The nexus 6 doesn't seem much better but since it has an AMOLED screen the screen filter apps (like lux) should actually decrease light output (rather than just making the color darker but the backlight is still the same intensity). This is my theory based on my limited understanding of the differences between AMOLED vs LCD.

Anyone tried one of these apps on the nexus 6? Do they work OK?

Actually I am use to the brightness in the dark. I have my brightness set to the lowest setting and with the AMOLED screen it is about the same brightness as the Nexus 5 and 7 but it is much easier on the eyes. Even with my LCD TV I have to leave the light on because with the screen off I get eyestrain. I don't get eyestrain with the AMOLED screen like I do with LCD screens in dark no light rooms.
