My Nexus 6P is is becoming junk. Should I bite and get the Pixel 2 now, or hold off and wait for the 3?

It depends on whether or not you can wait until at least October, probably close to November. It will be another 6-7 months likely before the Pixel 3 sees the light of day, so a fairly significant amount of time. If you think the Nexus will last you another solid half year, you can wait. Otherwise, grab a Pixel 2. Phones tend to not be vastly different year over year, so in my opinion it's worth upgrading to a Pixel 2 now. It's a big enough improvement over the 6P in my opinion. I usually upgrade my phone every other iteration as I find 2 years to be enough with one particular hand set. Usually over a 2 year span there's enough improvement to warrant an upgrade.

Agree with Joltcola1234. If we always were waiting for the next model, we'd never buy anything. It's still a half year away.

So sorry to hear about your Nexus 6P - that's a great phone! - and that is a very common yet frustrating conundrum in which you find yourself. Do you go for the latest phone now or wait six months or more for its next iteration?

If I were you (and I am in a similar situation, actually! Haha), I'd go for the Pixel 2 now. If your phone is on the fritz now, can you wait the 6+ months to get the Pixel 3 when it comes out? It may save you some stress in getting the Pixel 2 now.

Which Pixel 2 are you looking at?

Are you referring to battery life? It would be much cheaper, and give you more time to wait for the Pixel 3, to just replace the battery in the 6P.
Or just buy a really inexpensive phone that'll last you until the 3 is announced.

One never knows but the p3 could have a frickin’ notch for all we know or worse. The p2 as it is right now is a stellar flagship that’s smooth as glass. You might find one at a nicely reduced price. I’d go for the 2.

Depends on if the issue with the 6P is fixable or not. Is it a hardware failure issue? If so I'd probably go for the pixel 2, it's a known quantity and we know nothing about the pixel 3 yet. If it just needs a factory reset or a new battery, I might wait. If you do go for a P2 I imagine Google will give you something for it on trade.
