Nexus 7 (2012) slow response after Lollipop

All I did was clear cache and turn off all animations and transition in developer option fix my problem no factory reset needed

THANK YOU WESS!!!!!! I didn't even clear the cache and just turned animations off and noticed a significant improvement.

I tried everything: wiping cache partition, factory reset, you name it. Almost got to the point of chucking my beloved Nexus 7 (2012) in the trash when I stumbled on this post on 9to5google.com

I found that: 1)turning off auto screen rotation 2)going into keyboard settings and choosing holo theme 3)keyboard settings -> gesture typing -> turn off dynamic floating preview helped a lot. Thanks. God bless.

Works like magic. My tablet is back to life! I miss gestured typing, but it’s so good having my tablet working again, so cant complain much :)

To get my Nexus 7 (2012) to run at a reasonable speed I removed Google Chrome, Facebook, and in Google Play, Settings, disabled Auto-update apps, disabled Notifications of App updates available and Apps were auto-updated. When I have finished using the device I update any apps from Google Play, My apps, and leave the device to sort itself out, which it does in the end.
