Nexus 7 (2012) vs. Nexus 7 (2013) vs. Hisense Serie Pro

Okay wife went on trip and I am missing my N7 that she took with her. My son got early presents of Angry Birds Star Wars 2 telepods and is blowing the tablet's battery when I go to use it. (search telepods on Amazon or Google for what it is).
I want to buy a 2nd tablet which wife refuses to allow.

I can slip through a N7 2013 32GB for $229 tomorrow. Or I could get the Hisense Sero Pro with 16th, micro SD port and HDMI out port for about $150 if Wally World has in stock , or find on Groupon an old factory refurbished N7 2012.

I am leaning to Hisense Pro but it has been out long and no reliance on updates like N7..

I do not want a Kindle Fire of any type as I have the ebook Kindle and still love to read from it. My son was gifted his Grandmother's old Kindle ebook when she upgraded to Kindle Fire without asking me. (RANT : I want to read email and yada yada. I tried to convince her to go get Hisense or was going to buy and surprise her but she did all on her own and still calls me for troubleshooting /rant off sorry off topic)
