Nexus 7 - 2013 - Screen Unresponsive - Issue

i had the same problem with the second generation n7. the screen was unresponsive after buying. sent it to asus to repair. they apparently replaced the screen. when i received it back, had the same issue with screen. I sent it back to asus after warranty was over coz of my hectic schedule. i bought 64gb tablet. they charged me $200 for the screen which means they did not fix the screen at first time. i took the tablet to India and had it fix over there for a cheaper rate. such a waste of money for 64gb. worst company ever.

i had the dead area problem and tried many solutions including the ones mentioning taking off the back cover and pressing on the connectors just above the batter. Then one day I just reset it to factory settings and what do you know, the tab is working fine now! I have the latest build of lollipop running on it and the ghost touch / dead screen area seems to be resolved

This is July 30, 2015, and yes the Nexus 7 still has dead spots. Mine is a 2013 model. It is on the top or bottom or screen depending on which way your are holding it. I can't get certain functions to work on the bottom of screen, and then just reverse the device (portrait mode) and things work OK, but the side that was working OK quits working when it is reversed. This means that there is an entire dead area on on side of the screen. I guess I never noticed it earlier, but it prevents things from getting done right now. I have a Nexus 10 and 2 Samsung Tablets, so the Nexus 7 is not even necessary to me, but I don't even want to give it away with this flaw. Just wonder how much quality control they did on this device?

I am having the same issue..

The screen becomes unresponsive while I'm playing clash of clans.

I have to restart the device everytime to fix this issue.

The same is happening on front camera too, the camera is laggy and has a 0.3 milisecond delay

i wish i had returned mine. been struggling with it for a long time! just keep restarting it and it works fine for a while. I know its mechanical because have gone thru countless attempts to fix from updating OS, to installing apps... now sadly the thing has a crack from my frustration.

Android owners are cheap and buy foreign made stuff. and they are die hard fans... i think android sucks. and have countless screenshots to show software and mechanical issues. From flickering screens on my nexus 5 phone, a loose volume rocker on nexus 6p to the various touch screen issues in nexus 7. But i stick with it... cause i can still technically do more than what is permitted by the significantly better built and stable apple product.
