Nexus 7 auto rotate very sluggish

New Nexus 7 owner here. Love the tablet apart from very sluggish auto rotate. When changing from portrait to landscape and vice versa the tablet is very slow to respond and sometimes does not auto rotate at all! I have to give it a really good shake to get it to work which makes me look really stupid on the tube! I have searched through all of the settings but can't find anything for auto rotate sensitivity or similar. Does anybody know if there is a setting for this? Or perhaps is this a nexus 7 problem? Sounds like the orientation sensor is broken. Since it is new I would take it back for an exchange.

You should return it, but don't get an exchange. Get your money back and wait a few days because the next generation of the Nexus 7 will be announced any day now.

Ok thanks guys, good advice. I was hoping it was just going to be a software setting.
