Nexus 7 battery life?

I have retested the device after setting screen brightness to 50%.I am still disappointed. The second time around I checked at 30% charge left I had used the screen about 2 hrs and 45min. That still doesn't translate to anything lose to 8hrs. Again no movie or game play.
To those watching movies do you set the screen to stay on the whole time at the given brightness.
Bummer.

Battery life has been great, I'm sure extremely pleased with this thing.

Testing out swift key right now. So far so good. Predictions are cool.

55 hours on second full charge which is up from 11 hours from the first full charge so mine is actually getting better. I am currently charging it from 0 for the third time and will see how it does. Using my N7 for reading PDF book in Kindle reader, checking emails, surfing web, looking at IP security cameras, and Draw Something (which does not run very good on N7). Basically everything I used the iPad for I am using the N7 in its place. Will setup Netflix today and test it out...

I am on my 3rd charge.
Unplugged at 6am, dead at 2am.
Out the box. No adjusted settings.
Light to moderate usage-20hrs
Moderate to heavy - testing today

Finally killed my battery in a day but I was playing Shadow gun for a couple hours. Wish I could get this life on my GNex.

The battery life for my device is outstanding too. I think it also depends on the apps you are using, how about shutting off the all the 3 location services including the GPS.

Just a suggestion, if you want your device battery to be healthy, charge it only when the battery is completely drained i.e do complete charging/discharging cycle.
How much time does your N7 take to get fully charged? Mine takes around 1h 40m

i don't have any pics but i watched netflix for 3 hours last night on it and went from like 100 to 80% only. i thought that was really awesome

the battery life on this thing is really annoying, especially the idle battery life, I just want it to die!!

I'm disappointed by my battery life thus far as well. Today I unplugged it from charging overnight and it's already at 35% with only 4 hrs of display-on time (accounts for 70% of battery use). That's also with brightness at only 25%. Any tips or do I just have a dud??

You may have a dud, a rogue app, or just need to do a factory reset on the device.

I'm impressed with my device. The battery life is good when used in one sitting but this tab eats my battery alive when it's in standby. I'm dropping 30-40 % + in one day. I can't figure out what is draining the battery so much. I have a Acer A500 that I can leave in standby for over a week and still have it use less battery.

My N7 battery life is awesome, but even better it has improved my GNex battery life because I spend more time on the N7 and less time running the GNex.

I have the tablet up and running around 18 hours each day and there is still around 30% of the battery life left at the end of the day. I use the tablet kind of like a phone where I have the screen off most of the time but also check my online accounts frequently, play a few games, and watch some videos/movies.
