Nexus 7 + buffalo mini station 500gb

i have a buffalo ministation 500gb which is almost full of films/music and want to get a tablet. the reason i want an n7 is its one of the only tablets that supports skygo but need to confirm my hard drive will work with it using one of those otg cables? can anybody shine a light for me??
