nexus 7 clock widget not showing the minuets

hey,
my nexus 7 stock clock widget digital clock just will not show the time properly

the actual time is 10:32, but it just shows up to the 10:3.
it is easily solved by re-sizing the widget bigger, but it is odd, because you can reduce the size to that small size where the clock will not operate properly.
I know that there are plenty of clock widget apps that i can use, but i just like to keep thing simple.
actually this problem isn't really new, but thought google will solve this, but it hasn't and it's making me think that they don't know about it.
can someone tell me what i can do about this? can it be solved by a root?

Yeah thats weird. Send google support an email they are usually pretty good with adding those requests to future fixes.

I do hate the fact that when i turn the screen on, it shows the huge box to swipe over to add a widget. Just looks like it clutters an otherwise smooth lock screen. Drives me nuts.
