nexus 7 never updates OTA

Since I've had my nexus 7 from the launch it has never updated on it own, I always have to do the frameworks trick to get any of the updates.
Any ideas on what is going on?

After each confirmed availability of the last three OTA updates (based upon information from our trusty friends here in the forum, or other equally reliable source), how many days did you wait for the update before fiddling around with things and trying to force it?

Three or more days.

Wait longer. Last update took me a week or so.

My last update arrived after four days.

Ok but I feel it will never update on its own.

You'll notice here http://forums.androidcentral.com/showthread.php?p=2384947 that there are members who are just now getting the 4.2.1 update.
