Nexus 7 not staying connected to Connectify Hotspot/Windows Hotspot

Hi,

I have recently bought a Nexus 7. It is a great tablet but when buying I never took into account the fact that we don't have WiFi at work (We use an Ethernet connected to our laptops). Straight away after setting up the Nexus I downloaded JellyBean 4.2 so never really used 4.1.

Since buying the Nexus I have downloaded Virtual Router and then Connectify to share my laptops internet by creating a hotspot. The Nexus connects no problem but seems to drop the connection after a certain length of time. I'm not sure if it has to do with the Nexus going to sleep but if I leave it for a while and come back to it the connection is gone (the WiFi symbol in the status bar has changed to grey). The only way of getting this connection back seems to be to turn WiFi off and then on again. My Galaxy S 2 connects to Connectify and stays connected.
The Nexus connects fine to my home WiFi and doesn't lose the signal.

I recently changed the IP address to a static one to see if this was the problem but nothing has changed.

I am just wondering does anyone else have this problem? I have been looking through forums and most of the problems I have come across that are related to this are to do with peoples Nexus' not connecting to WiFi at all and not just a hotspot.

I am also having this issue while tethering to my Galaxy Nexus. The connection is great until I let it sit idle, then the Nexus 7 will lose the connection and usually I have to reset the Nexus 7 to get the connection back again. When the Nexus 7 is connected to my home network, I never have this problem. Both my Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 7 are rooted running custom 4.1.2 ROM's. I am not even sure at this point if the problem is with the Nexus or Galaxy Nexus however I am guessing that maybe this caused by the Galaxy Nexus?
