Nexus 7 refund.

If you were like me and pre-ordered your Nexus 7 the day t was announced only to purchase one at retail because of the shipping debacle, I have some news about your refund.

Usually the play store will refund your card in 1-2 weeks depending on the condition you sent it back in. Since I refused delivery and the box was still unopened, I expected to receive my refund in that 1-2 week bracket. But alas, have not yet been refunded. I called the play store support number and the Rep told me that since this device has been a huge seller, the warehouse has not been able to keep up with processing returns (hundreds of people did the same refusal and purchase from retail) and the memos they have been getting states that it will be three weeks (21 BUSINESS days) before we should see refund.

If you are freaking out about the charge still unrelinquished from Google, don't fret. Its coming.

Asus/Google received my dead (screen completely unresponsive) Nexus 7 on 08/13/2012; and I still don't have a refund. I waited the 14 business days, like a good boy.

I called them today and was told I did not get my refund because the RMA was not flagged as a return for refund. I don't if that is true or not, but they could have told me that last week when I called for a status update.

Very disappointed with Google, but whatever, I am sure there are thousands of happy customers.
 
I attempted to cancel my pre-order before it was shipped but was told that it was already in the shipping department and that it was too late to do anything about it. However, the device did not ship until at least 7 days later. As a result, I was forced to refuse delivery back on July 18th, with the device returning to the sender on July 20th. 46 days later with multiple calls to Google and I still have not received my refund. I guess it's a good thing that $246 will not make or break me since my money has been tied up for so long. They opened support tickets after a couple of my calls but I have not had any follow up.

... Wow. I only cancelled out of impatience (it was going go take over a week, and a store near me had just received a shipment of the 16GB half an hour before I called) so I hope the people with actual issues/pre-order shipping get priority on refunds.

Guess it'll just be a fun surprised to have $230 back in my account in the coming months lol.
 
If you used American Express simply dispute it. That's what I did because I got tired of wasting my time.

I've disputed the charge with MasterCard, who has taken care of me in the past. I'm just amazed at the total lack of communication on Google's part.

Same. I waited 34 days before pulling the "dispute card." Absolutely unbelievable IMHO.
 
Question--when you guys refused shipment, was that indicated on your UPS tracking detail? I refused mine yesterday, but forgot to double check until now. Their CS center is closed, but it shows that the driver delivered it, with a 'proof of delivery'. I was there when he came up, and drove away with the package....... :|
 
As an update, Google finally responded to my calls and e-mails and issued me a refund yesterday, 48 days after the device was delivered back to them.

My tracking info from UPS showed that the delivery was refused by me within a few hours and was later updated to show a return tracking number that they issued to deliver it back to Google. It never showed as delivered to me or had proof of delivery since I never accepted it.
 
For the delivery thing, mine shows "return to sender requested" and the intercept. I also have 2 tracking numbers. It was never delivered to me, and that's shown in both.
 
Hi im in the UK and have been waiting over a month now for the elsuvie TNT shipping label so that I can get a refudn on ym faulty Nexus7.

Has anyone else had such problems for this length of time and if you managed to get it sorted finally...please can you tell me how!?

Google just constantly tells me the label will arrive in 3-4days but it never does

Grateful for any help.
