nexus 7 speaker problem

ok so heres the problem my rear speaker stoppped working. alarms sounds still work but not media, youtube, music nothing. sometimes the media works then it goes out, ten starts working again then out again any ideas on why it does that ??

I'm assuming that you have the volume turned up, right? If you do and it's only working some of the time....is it particular apps that act up? Or just randomly?

I have the same problem, speakers won't work if used in media, but notifications and alarms can be heard. Music also plays if headset is used, so it's just the speakers that won't work.
Any suggestion on this?
