Come on, Mods......don't you think it's time to lock thread???????
This hasn't died yet? lol
Your a MOD.....you can put a stop to it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First, regardless of the fact that the same members keep arguing over the same thing, there is a lot of informative stuff in here. For a new user reading this thread--while somewhat distracting and grating in parts--they'll get a lot of info about "common" defects, experiences, and general information regarding the quality of the Nexus 7. While these opinions maybe shrouded in silliness, there is a lot of value to them.
Secondly, I'll handle the moderating. Thanks. If there are issues, please utilize the report button. However, a member expressing his/her opinion--regardless if you, I, or anyone believes it--should be carefully considered. I'm amazed that the same argument is going on. Is it worthwhile? To some degree, yes. But all things will be considered, at least in the end.
OK...those who are so convinced that there more good units out there than bad ones can advice the ones with less luck how to go about getting a good unit?
Because I haven't had any luck so far and I have tried 4 units from 3 different retailers namely,Carphone Warehouse,Tesco,PcWorld...
All units had screen separation.
One more thing. The last unit I got had a very very little screen lift about 1 cm length and a fraction mil raised and I thought well ..it is not that bad and I was determined to live with it.
But now after 10 days of use the raised screen got worse and it runs nearly the whole length of the left side .....
And it creaks like hell when pressed
Just poor build quality and you will have to live with a few defects for the low price tag. Everyone has a defective unit technically speaking...but these defects are the norm, so you cant consider them defects.Mine creaks but only when I'm pressing down on the far outer edges.

Dmmark, I know you're the mod and I know it's not our place, as you have said, but PLEASE GOD lock this thread. I'm seriously about to lose my ****. I'm open to opinions, but this isn't an opinion. It's an easily disprovable lie. He's literally trying convince people that every single N7 in the world is defective. At this point I'm not sure if he's just trolling or works for Apple or what, but straight up lies like that are simply going scare off new owners before they even look at one.
K, that's my appeal good sir.

Tell you what, get on the Internet, and type the words "Google.com" into the address bar. Press enter. I hear the page that'll come up has some new-fangled thing called a "search engine." Maybe it can help you locate the reviews you're asking about.
Good luck, sir.
Here is the official poor build quality test.
Take your thumb and press down(semi hard) on any of the 4 corners in the black area. The Screen will light up like an old LCD screen being touched.
Nothin', nada, zilch. Now what?
Went into pitch black room, turned screen off. It looked, well....off. No light leaking.
Took a toothpick, laid it flat on the screen. Went around the entire bezel, the point touching the bezel every millimeter, not once did the toothpick come up off the bezel.
I am sorry that some got units that were defective. I'm sure there are defective units. But if anyone got 10, or 21?!??!! defective units. I was a Blackberry guy when the Playbook came out and there were a very few people that said the same thing. I got (x) number of defective units, why is my luck so bad?
There's really 2 things here that are hard to believe. One, the same person got 10 or more defective units in a row, and Two - someone would continue to want this even after they got multiple pieces of chit.

Now do this with any other tablet. Including the ones that sell for $100. No other tablet will do this.
No this isnt something you will do on a daily basis... if ever.
It just shows that there is less glass, poor design, ability to lift, creak, easily broken screens, and all of the other crap people have been complaining about. Maybe even why the touch screen dies.
If anyone is an Apple employee... its the people that are so hard core saying its perfect. Sell more of a product to have people complain about.
Tegra 3 isnt worth this.
