Hi,

I posted this in the Rezound section and the more I thought about it, it may be an N7 issue. If you would please read:

http://forums.androidcentral.com/verizon-htc-rezound/198156-cannot-connect-mobile-hotspot.html

and see if you know of anything that would help, I'd appreciate it. I can't even get it to connect at home anymore. The password is input into both my Rezound hotspot and the N7 connection and it still hangs on Obtaining IP address with no internet connection available although it shows it's connected. I have no idea what I may be doing wrong or not doing or ???

I have Lookout, could Lookout be blocking the connection?

Thanks,
Deb

I use a Verizon MiFi 4510 hotspot with mine all the time and have had no issues whatsoever (I generally have my PC, phone, and N7 connected to it whenever I'm at home). Have you tried contacting Verizon's tech support? Or for that matter, have you tried connecting any other wifi-capable device to your phone when the hotspot feature is active?

I think I may have found the problem. I will be testing it later tonight. Yes I tried contacting the is VZW support and their auto msg wanted me to call them from another phone. I don't have another phone here to call them from. I don't have another wifi device to attempt to connect with.

Well it didn't work. I tried in 2 places away from my home network and I cannot get a wifi connection.

I was having problems with my N7 connecting to my home network too. I changed the security settings on my router from WPA to WPA2 and that seemed to fix it. You're talking about a hotspot so I'm not sure how you'd change those settings, hope that helps. Can you connect to a regular WIFI network?

Yes I can connect to my home wifi no problem. I've also try different security settings and this last time I even tried the NONE setting and it still would not connect.

Hmmm?can any of your other devices connect to the Rezound's hotspot? Only thing I can think of is that the issue resides with your Rezound.

Have you tried disabling 4g and forcing the phone to 3g only? I have read this can be an issue with the Rezound,

No because I didn't know that was something I should try. Problem was solved by me buying a GS3 but not before I made the VZW clerk test it at the store to make sure it would connect to my Nexus 7. I got to the point that I was just flat out DONE trying to make the Rezound work.
