What's yours? When did you get it? Which variant is it (16GB Black, 32GB White, LTE Black, etc)? Do you suffer from the hardware problems of the flush buttons, loose back cover and backlight bleed / the software problems of a laggy OS?

A few examples:
HT4A... = October '14
HT4B... = November '14
HT4C... = December '14
HT51... = January '15
(I got these from Amazon by the way)

I have a HT4A and before purchasing it fully expected to get it with some hardware defects after reading all the posts on here. I ordered it more as an experiment than anything else with the full anticipation of sending it back right away. I am happy and surprised to report that that is not the case though. I do have slightly recessed or flush buttons that require a little "concentration" to push but nothing that I can't live with (especially with double tap to wake) and not a big deal really. Other than that I have next to no light bleed (actually much less than my n7 and one of the best LCD screens I have ever owned with regards to light bleed) and the back cover has no appreciable gap between the cover and the internals (no big deal at all and not even noticeable). It does however have a decent amount of small quirks with the software/OS, but I am confident that will be ironed out by Google with future updates. Overall I actually love this tablet, and against all odds to boot.

Hey Brosko, I had put the Nexus 9 in my Amazon wishlist and had all but forgotten about it and my wife surprised me with it for Christmas. I opened it with much trepidation and felt the same as you. I was going to return it if it didn't meet my expectations. Quite frankly, I could have written the same thing that you just wrote literally word for word. I really do like my Nexus 9 and there is no way I would have sent it back. My Nexus 7 2nd generation now sits idle.

In that thread a while back about build quality it was you that actually convinced me to try the n9. I'm now glad I did.
On a side note, I still use my n7 as a "daytime" tablet (easier to grab quickly to check something, more portable and lighter) but the n9 is my evening "on the couch" tablet. Its perfect for web browsing with the 4:3 aspect ratio screen!

I ordered a new one after returning the one I got in November. However this time I went for the LTE one. Does anyone know if the serial numbers are different for the 16GB, 32GB and the LTE models? I've been doing some research and users are claiming their 9s don't have the problems of the buttons and screen. These claim theirs was built in December (a HT4C). However the LTE one that I received is one of these but has these problems. It's really starting to annoy me now.

I have a 32 GB black version, build HT4A. I don't have any issues with light bleed or the back cover but I do find it's a bit laggy at times (I'm expecting 5.1 to fix this). I agree with the comments regarding the buttons but don't really find it to be that much of an issue as I use the double tap to wake and I have a cover that turns the screen on and off when I open it. Overall I love this tablet and just can't believe that some people give it a bad review.
