Nexus 9 Sluggish Performance

Since 6.0.1 I can say all sluggishness with Google Play Music, Chrome home redraws, etc is gone.

I've had a few issues with Chrome, even after the 6.0.1 update. Now granted, I do tend to open several tabs at once. I know this can result in using extra ram resources. Usually after closing out of Chrome, things are back to normal.

I was having big time issues with lag, even after 6.0.1. I'm talking up to fifteen seconds to open apps, home screen redraws.... Finally bit the bullet and accomplished a factory reset, and this thing is flawless now.

I'm wondering if my issue with sluggishness is related to having multiple accounts. Does anyone have multiple accounts that isn't experiencing lag?

Have this problem on my Nexus 9 as well. I have completely reset a few times but tablet is constantly choppy and laggy. My Nexus 10 works runs better than this with lollipop. Any custom rom suggestions?

I was having some terrible lag issues. I kept getting my lock-screen popping up when the device was unlocked and doing something.
I ended up removing my screen lock (I was using a numeric password), and the lag got much better.
While home I don't need a screen lock, buf for work I do. So, I added back a pattern screen lock, and it's still working pretty well.
This may not apply to anyone else, but I thought I'd share just in case.

So my N9 runs really hot, especially when the battery is low. It's slow to move between Apps, sometimes it doesn't load them at all and when using it quickly it is generally slow and laggy. It also takes 3 1/2 mins to boot up. It's so bad in fact that I decided it had to be faulty. Sounds faulty to you right?

HTC support agreed and I sent it off for them to repair. A week later they send it back with a note saying there was not a single problem with it.

So providing they checked it properly then as far as I'm concerned that's HTC basically admitting that an N9 running hot, slow, laggy and generally badly is 'normal'. Not good.

First try enabling Show all ANRs in Developer Settings and check if any new app error pop-up comes, delete them and report issues to devs. If no new pop-up for few days try Safe Mode for few days. If helped its installed app problems. If nothing better request replacement.

I cleared the cache partition on mine and it has helped considerably.

With the tablet off, press and hold Power and Volume Down buttons simultaneously until you see something other than Google on the screen.

At this point, you should see a large arrow at the top of the screen.Tap Volume Down repeatedly until you see Recovery in the arrow.

*Then tap the Power button. You should see an android on his back with its chest open showing*red triangle and exclamation mark.

While holding the Power button, tap Volume Up once then release the Power button.

You should now see a list of items at top of screen.Tap Volume Down until the item to erase or wipe the cache partition is highlighted. *Then tap Power button to initiate the process.A status messages will appear at the bottom of the screen. *

Be patient because this can take 10-15 minutes to complete. *When done restart the Nexus.
