nexus charging issue

i kept it on charging from 20 min but it is showing 0% only dont know whether it is charging or not and yesterday it was not getting switch on only.
now it shows google then x symbol then main screen where charging, 0% msg is there .
dont know wats the problem with this

It could be a charger hardware issue. Is there a way that you could try using another smartphone charger to rule that possibility out? I have heard issues where people run their n4's down to like 10%, and then it fails to charge.

Try a different charger, try a different outlet, turn the phone off before charging it.
