Nexus One versus Moto Droid

Has anyone reviewed the AT&T Nexus One yet to see if they did fix the problems?

I got the same question mulling around my head. I am surprised there hasn't been an out-pouring of talk about it

Most of the issues you reported with the Nexus One have already been fixed/addressed...

Here are some concerns with the N1 that have been addressed (in this thread) but, I will lay some out again.

AMOLED screen: Normally this isnt a issue, but this one has its fair share of touch screen issues with multi-touch and accuracy (its just how HTC builds them). And also with being INVISIBLE in sunlight. And over-saturation of oranges and reds.
There is a software work-around reported in XDA forums. This workaround is enabled by default on the Droid, but not on the Nexus One. When one enables it, the Nexus One multi-touch works exactly the same as the Droids.

3G Issues: Even after a "fix" there are still many reports on 3G issues. But many have noticed that if you place your hand over the radio, it can cause it to go to Edge over 3G. Not a big deal, but if the radio isn't powerful enough to push through your hand, that can be problematic for some users. Again, hopefully the ATT and VZW version have addressed this.
With the latest leaks of the ERE32B and EPE54 firmware for the Nexus One, the 3g issue... is now a non-issue.

Lack of a dedicated GPU: Now this is up for personal opinion. But if you want to play games on your phone or play around with that fancy FLASH when it hits our phones, that GPU is gonna make things a lot smoother!
Just for the record snapdragon too has dedicated GPU - AMD z430(now rebranded adreno 200) and their performance is similar to the DROID's.

So all that stuff you listed requires hacking or rooting or altering your phone in some way.

That doesn't really 'fix' it.

I didn't think enabling that actually fixes the multi-touch issues on the N1. It seems like more of a workaround. It has already been confirmed that the synaptics touch screen used on the N1 is a lower end model when compared to say, the iPhone (I'd still get a N1 over the iPhone any day BTW).

I sure am glad that this thread was made because I was in the same boat as the OP. I love my Droid to death but the Nexus One just looks so attractive.

The storage on the droid is more than the nexus 1? WTF... same stuff on droid and 140mb free. One the nexus 1, 120mb... sigh... Also, alot of good apps are NOT on the android market with the at&t N1 vs the droid for Verizon.

I know this is probably meant for another thread, but has someone made it so that applications can be put on the memory card or something? Just wondering...
